JANESVILLE, WI (ARPIL 11, 2022) –Universal Recycling Technologies (URT), an e-Stewards certified electronic and universal waste recycler, announced today that it has partnered with TCL, one of the world’s best-selling consumer electronic brands and leading technology companies, and MRM, TCL’s long-time provider of end-to-end sustainability solutions, to host a two-day free of cost electronics recycling event for residents to properly recycle their electronics. This event is a part of the widely heralded TCL Take-Back Tour bringing convenient recycling solutions to locations across the U.S.

The TCL Take-Back Tour is a key pillar of the technology company’s TCL Cares Program, helping to raise awareness for the tremendous benefits that effective electronics recycling brings to all communities. The multi-year program reflects TCL’s continued commitment to sustainable solutions, earning the EPA’s Special Sustainability Leadership Award in 2021.

The two-day collection event will take place Earth Day weekend, Friday, April 22 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 23 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at URT’s headquarters located at: 2535 Beloit Ave, Janesville, WI 53546. The cost of the event is free for the Janesville community and its surrounding neighbors (businesses excluded).

“Wisconsin is currently well below its electronic recycling goals for this year,” said Ray Zielke, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at URT. “As a certified recycler headquartered in Wisconsin, it is our responsibility to work towards creating a more favorable recycling environment for residents of the state. That is why partnering with TCL and MRM on this event for the community is so important. Together we’ve recognized the need and want to provide a solution to the issue.”

Items accepted free of cost: televisions, computers (desktop, laptop, netbook, & tablet computers), desktop printers (including those that scan, fax and/or copy, and 3-D printers), computer monitors, other computer accessories (including keyboards, mice, speakers, external hard drives, & flash drives), e-readers, DVD players, VCRs and other video players (i.e. DVRs), and fax machines.
