April 21, 2026 — [JANESVILLE, WI] — Universal Recycling Technologies (URT), a national leader in electronics recycling and IT asset disposition (ITAD), is launching its first-ever nationwide Earth Day electronics collection event, inviting communities across the country to responsibly recycle unwanted electronics while supporting local environmental efforts.
Taking place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, the initiative will open URT facilities across the United States to residents who want to safely recycle electronics that often sit unused in basements, garages, and storage closets. The event reflects URT’s commitment to serving the communities where it operates while helping keep valuable materials out of landfills.

To help bring the campaign to life visually, URT has partnered with Carolyn Adkins of Schnitzel Bear Studios, a Milwaukee-based illustrator known for bold and engaging poster design. The collaboration introduces original artwork that will be featured on event posters and promotional materials, helping inspire community participation and make electronics recycling more approachable.
“We wanted the visuals to capture attention and spark curiosity,” said Adkins, founder of Schnitzel Bear Studios. “If the artwork helps motivate someone to finally bring in that old computer or TV from their basement, then we’ve helped make a positive impact.”

Collected materials will be processed through URT’s certified recycling systems to ensure responsible recovery of materials and secure handling of electronic devices.
