General Production Operator - Fort Worth, TX

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The purpose of the General Production Operator (GPO) is to process and sort TV’s, computers, assorted electronics and commodities through any general production process on the shop floor as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Disassemble and sort electronics and related equipment
  • Load and unload items from containers if applicable
  • Distinguish between commodity component pieces, sort and place in appropriate containers
  • Meet defined production goals
  • Adhere to operating, health, and safety protocols
  • Maintain a clean, orderly work environment.  General housekeeping
  • Additional duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Ability to use hand tools necessary in disassembly
  • Ability to perform essential duties
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

The General Production Operator (GPO) interacts regularly with other production floor associates, supervisors, managers, and EHS department associates.  Occasional involvement in work teams, such as the safety and advisory committees.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The production floor is an industrial manufacturing environment that is, at times, noisy and dusty with constant movement of heavy equipment.  The indoor climate is seasonably warm during summer months, comfortably cool during winter months.  Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required for all production floor positions, which may include steel-toed shoes or boots and approved eye protection.  Other PPE that may be required for certain positions includes, but is not limited to, hearing protection, safety gloves, sleeves, coverall suit, half-mask or dust/mist respirator, and/or a bump cap or hard hat.
